  • The history of Cottage Grove is highly visible through the twenty-one murals that enhance the historic buildings of the city. The commemoration of the making of the movie "The General," parades, local history and former advertising are all preserved throughout the town, easily accessible on a walking tour.

  • Explore 3 waterfalls in the Umpqua National Forest just outside of Cottage Grove. First stop by the Cottage Grove Ranger Station and pickup hiking maps and get details about weather and trail conditions. Moon Falls Trail #1423Pinard Falls Trail #1406, and Spirit Falls Trail #1413 constitute a trinity of Cottage Grove Ranger District's most beautiful waterfalls. Due to their close proximity and relatively short total hiking distance of 3 miles, many choose to do two or three in the same day.

  • Cottage Grove is known as the "Covered Bridge Capital of the West. Visit all six bridges in Cottage Grove, which include Lane County's oldest covered bridge and the only remaining covered railroad bridge west of the Mississippi.
